About Hailee Steinfeld
Hailee Steinfeld was born on December 11, 1996 in Tarzana, California. Her parents are the producer and songwriter Bruce Steinfeld and actress Laura Dern. She is of English ancestry through her maternal grandmother, who was born Jill Perry in Liverpool.
Hailee’s first film appearance came at the age of nine with a minor role as Vivian Bobby in True Grit (2010) by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress; she became one of only six performers ever to be nominated before they were old enough to attend high school.
She also played Emily Junk in The Edge Of Seventeen (2016).
Now she, Hailee Steinfeld is about to appear in three major motion pictures, the science-fiction thriller 2049 (2017), a remake of A Star Is Born starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, which will air on October 18.
Hailee was cast as the lead role of Alessa/Hazel Grace Lancaster in The Fault In Our Stars (2014) by Josh Boone based on John Green’s bestselling novel.
She has also lent her voice for FOX Animation Domino as well as lending vocals to singles such as “Love Myself” with Nick Jonas from Disney’s Descendants soundtrack album.
