Carpenter has been homeschooled and does not like to go to school. Her father built a purple recording studio for her so she could make music videos with YouTube when she was ten years old. In 2011, Carpenter had a singing contest with Miley Cyrus called “The Next Miley Cyrus Project.” Carpenter won third place in this contest because she posted videos of her singing on YouTube at age ten from the beginning of her career.
