About Rebecca Ferguson
Rebecca Ferguson was born in 1983 and grew up in Santa Barbara. She was always interested
in the arts, enjoying painting and sketching as a young child. As she got older Rebecca began taking art classes at her high school to prepare for possible careers as either a graphic designer or artist. In 2008 she started working professionally as an actress
She is very involved with charity work, donating money from modeling jobs to causes such as AIDS awareness for children of Africa through the Elton John Aids Foundation (2007) and relief efforts following Hurricane Sandy by opening up her home on Staten Island’s Snedens Landing Beach to people who were displaced during Superstorm Sandy (2012). She also donated $100,000 towards wildfire disaster relief when devastating fires swept over Southern California and also did the same for Hurricane Harvey (2017).
She was originally cast as the lead in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” but took a different role to work on television series, Gossip Girl.
In 2018 she starred in Netflix’s T.V. show Sex Education and is set to star in upcoming movies such as The Favourite and Godzilla: King of Monsters. She has also appeared onstage many times including Broadway productions like Mary Stuart or Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Most recently Rebecca collaborated with Nike Lab Air Max at London Fashion Week by acting out an interpretive dance routine which featured movements based around air maxes while wearing them.
