Dobrev became well known for portraying Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on The CW’s supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries.

Dobrev has been in movies. She was in a coming-of-age movie, and an action comedy. She also played a lot of roles in horror movies. Dobrev is also one of the stars of the science-fiction drama Flatliners.

Dobrev was born in Bulgaria. When she was two, her family moved to Canada where she grew up. Dobrev’s father is a computer specialist and her mother is an artist. She has one older brother.
