About Lily Collins

Lily Collins was born to Phil Collins and mother Jill Tavelman on March 18 1989, in Guildford, Surrey.

Lily is the younger sister of actress Joely Richardson, who starred in films such as The Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003) and Nanny McPhee Returns (2010).

She attended Hurtwood House, St Mary’s School Ascot, and her older sister before graduating from high school at Collingham College Preparatory School in 2008. Lily then graduated college-aged 22 with honours after attending Brown University, where she studied English Literature for four years.

In 2010 she landed her first role playing Rosie Dunne opposite Dominic Cooper – an Irish musician-turned-TV presenter – in The History Boys alongside Francesca Annis, Stephen Campbell Moore, Richard Griffiths and Samuel Barnett.

Lily made her feature film debut in The Other Boleyn Girl as Mary Boleyn opposite Eric Bana and Scarlett Johansson – who played the role of Anne Boleyn. She has also starred in other movies such as Like Crazy (2011), In Our Nature (2012) and Chatroom (2010).

In 2013 she was cast as Elizabeth Bennet for ITV’s new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride, And Prejudice which aired this November with a star-studded cast including Matthew Rhys, Jennifer Ehle, Anna Maxwell Martin and Jemma Redgrave.
