About Katy Perry
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson is a singer, songwriter, and television judge. She sings in church as a child. When she was young, she signed with Red Hill Records and released an album that was not successful.
In 2008, she moved to Los Angeles and started working with some big producers. Her mother’s name was Perry, so she changed her name to Katy Perry. She was dropped from The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records. But then, in 2007, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records.
Perry’s second album was one of the Boys. It had a song called “I Kissed a Girl.” Perry’s third album, Teenage Dream, had five songs that we’re number one in America. Perry is like Michael Jackson because she made three albums with five songs that we’re number one in America.
Her seventh album, Sparkle, came out in 2013 and talked about her divorce. The first song on the album is called “Roar.” Another one of her songs, titled “Dark Horse,” which was chart-topping, also appears on the album. Other famous singles include “Prism” (2014) and “Walking On Sunshine” (2009). Her eighth album is Witness, which talks about feelings of liberation after she went through a tough time to release an important political message in 2017. Her sixth studio work is Smile that came out in 2020
