Hugh Jackman is best known for his role as Wolverine in the original X-men film, and he has played him since 2000. He holds the Guinness World Record for longest career as a live action Marvel superhero.
Jackman is well-known for his role of Jean Valjean from the musical Les Misérables. He has also starred in other movies such as Kate and Leopold, Van Helsing, The Prestige and Australia.
Some awards that Jackman has won are the 2004 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical, hosting the 2005 Tony Awards, and hosting the 2009 Academy Awards. He was also given an award for services to performing arts and to the global community.
Jackman was born in Sydney, Australia. His parents were from England and they came to Australia in 1967 with the “Ten Pound Poms” immigration scheme. This means that he is an Australian citizen but also a British citizen because of his English parents.
