About Carmella

Leah Van Dale is a professional wrestler, dancer, and model. She performs on the WWE show called SmackDown Live under the name Carmella.

Van Dale signed a contract with WWE. She was sent to NXT in Orlando, Florida. She met Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, and they became friends. Van Dale made her main roster debut on SmackDown in July 2016. In June 2017, she won the Money in the Bank match for women.

In April 2018, she won the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. In 2019, Carmella also won the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal and the WWE 24/7 Championship.

Leah Van Dale was born on October 23, 1987 in Spencer, Massachusetts. Her father is Paul Van Dale who used to be a mixed martial artist and professional wrestler for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Leah is of Italian and Dutch descent.

Van Dale grew up in Spencer Massachusetts. She graduated from the Prouty High School in 2006 and went to college at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Van Dale was a cheerleader for the New England Patriots for three season, ending in 2010. Van Dale auditioned for the Los Angeles Lakers dance team and became a Laker Girl during her 2010-2011 season.
